Applications Development

The Applications Development Track trains students to become the IT industry’s leading software engineers, web developers, system analysts, and database developers. The main objective of this track is to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills in designing and developing software systems and applications. Students will learn how to develop software projects that highly conform to the IT industry’s software engineering best practices.


Game Design and Development

The Game Design and Development Track focuses on the foundational knowledge of creating 2D and 3D Video Games. Students will understand fundamental key components and programming paradigms to create their own games from the ground up using C++, OpenGL, and OpenAL. The track will also give students a glimpse of rapid video game development using Unity3D.


Embedded Systems Development

The Embedded Systems Track equips students to develop software, implement real-time applications and learn the fundamentals of electronics for embedded devices such as Arduino, Microprocessor Simulators, and Embedded Linux.


Network and Systems Administration

The Network and Systems Administration Track covers the design, implementation, and maintenance of computer networks. This track includes courses such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA Exploration 1-4), Linux Professional Institute (LPI 101, 102, 201, 202), and Microsoft Windows Server Administration. Students get to use and configure network equipment such as routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, VPN concentrators, voice gateways, and IP phones, to name a few. Graduates of this track are employed as IT support engineers, network administrators, system administrators, and IT managers.


Business and Communication Skills

UP ITDC full-time students take Business and Communication Skills lessons as well. Subjects include Communication Skills, Presentation Skills, Technical Writing, Basic Accounting, General Management, and global IT Standards.


Japanese

Students of full-time Certificate Programs may also take Japanese Language lessons everyday. The course will serve as a preparation for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT). Test passers will be ready to accept employment opportunities offered by companies that require applicants to posses knowledge of the Japanese language.
